Updated Florida Statutes on Vehicle Registration Using Passports
Effective September 23rd, updated Florida statutes prohibit the issuance of new plates or the transfer of vehicle registrations for individuals using a passport as identification. If you present a passport, you are prohibited from purchasing a new plate, transferring a plate to a newly purchased vehicle, or transferring a plate between vehicles.
However, this restriction does not prevent you from obtaining ownership of a vehicle in Florida using a passport. You may own the vehicle, but you cannot legally register a new Florida plate to it. If you already have a registered plate on your vehicle, you are still permitted to renew your registration for one or two years.
Please ensure compliance with these regulations to avoid any issues with your vehicle registration.

Power of Attorney Requirement:
To process any service through Xpress Auto Tags, you must sign a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Power of Attorney form. Please ensure this document is fully completed, including all relevant vehicle information. Additionally, upload a copy of your current driver's license. Incomplete forms cannot be processed, so please review the document carefully before submitting it.

If you need services such as vehicle registration, a new plate, a replacement plate, or registration renewal, proof of valid Florida insurance is required for all vehicles. Please note, proof of insurance is not needed for motorcycles, boats, or mobile homes, but it is essential for any vehicle needing a plate or registration.
Make sure to provide a photo of both the front and back of your vehicle's title and upload it to our website for review. We will assess the documents as quickly as possible. If any additional information is required, we will notify you during a phone call when you contact us.

Please note that we only accept payments for transactions involving the person whose name appears on the registration or who is directly requesting the service. We will not accept credit card payments from third parties or unauthorized users of the credit card.
